Federal Tax Credits Are Back

Starting in 2016, the Federal tax credits (25C) for residential energy efficiency upgrades were renewed by the Federal Government. These tax credits are available on qualifying purchases made throughout 2016, as well as any purchases made in 2015. There are some restrictions to know about, including them being limited to existing homes and it must be your primary home as well. Unfortunately, you cannot use these on rental property, vacation homes or new home construction. Also, the lifetime credit cap of $500 was reinstated, so if you have claimed more than $500 in 25C tax credits, since January 1, 2006, you do not qualify for any further credits.

Pharo Heating & Cooling carries several products that qualify for the following tax credits, including:

Residential Gas, Oil, Propane Furnaces or Hot Water Boiler: $150

– Must be ≥ 95% AFUE

Advanced Main Air Circulating Fan: $50

– No more than 2% of furnaces total energy use

Residential Split-System A/C: $300

– Must be EER ≥ 13
– Must be SEER ≥ 16

Residential Air-Source Split-System Heat Pumps: $300

– Must be HSPF ≥ 8.5
– Must be EER ≥ 12.5
– Must be SEER ≥ 15

Residential Geothermal Heat Pumps: 30% of cost of installation

– Qualifies for both existing homes and new construction
– Qualifies for both primary residences, as well as second homes

If you are looking at replacing an existing system, now is as good of time as any to
upgrade and get your federal tax credit. Call or email our team at Pharo Heating &
Cooling for more information and we’d be happy to talk you through your options.
Please note that we will help answer any questions we can, however we always
recommend speaking with your tax advisor to make sure you qualify for any of these
tax credits.

What’s New at Pharo Heating & Cooling?

I don’t know if you’ve stopped by our office recently, but if you have we would like to apologize for the rough driveway entrance. The past couple winters have really taken a toll on our pavement. Good news is the next time you stop in we should have this all redone and looking nice, as we are set to repave in May.

Also, after about 20 years of being a workhorse for our sheet metal shop, our plasma sheet metal table is going to get an overhaul to be brought up-to-date with the latest software and cutting system. This will help us provide a better and more efficient workplace to fabricate your custom ductwork and fittings.

Another major upgrade that has already taken place is our new and much improved website www.PharoHeating.com. It was our pleasure to work with The Lion Tree Group on the design and development of this great new website, which went live the beginning of this year. Please take a couple minutes to check it out and let us know what you think. Feel free to let us know if there is anything else you would like to see included or changed to provide a better experience.

Pharo Heating & Cooling has also brought on some new team members to help fill open positions in both our service and installation departments. With that being said, we are still looking to add a couple more qualified HVAC installers to the team. So if you or someone you knows is looking for a career in the trades, then stop by, or email Clint at clint@pharoheating.com for more information.
